Compass/Mobile Problem Locator 3.2

The integration of ComSonics’ Compass Signal Leakage Platform with the Mobile Problem Locator (MPL) enhances the capabilities available to cable and utility field technicians. The MPL functionality enables users to document a variety of issues within the cable plant and other utility networks such as power, telephone, gas, and water systems through visual inspection. The updated Compass functionality introduces expanded options for identifying, recording, and transmitting signal leakage data to the ComSonics GENACIS server, while also supporting maintenance of job orders.

The CompassMPL application facilitates submission of reports related to signal leaks, construction concerns, and work order closures linked to signal leakage problems. It also includes features for recording the geographic location of cellular towers, offering a valuable tool for addressing LTE interference challenges.

Integrated with the GENACIS Web platform, the CompassMPL app allows seamless interaction with previously stored signal leakage data. Users can customize problem categories and resolution codes to better reflect their operational procedures. Additionally, the web interface provides export functionality for data pertaining to each utility type.

A demonstration mode is available to familiarize users with the operation of the CompassMPL application. Upon subscribing to ComSonics’ service and connecting to the GENACIS server, the application transitions to a fully operational state with complete interactivity. The subscription permits concurrent use on two devices, with options to add additional devices by deactivating existing ones as needed.

To initiate the subscription, customers must contact ComSonics Customer Service. Following registration, the web application requires setup for user authentication. Administrators will need to create user accounts with specific login credentials that authorize access to the CompassMPLS platform. Unauthorized login attempts will be denied access.

It is important to note that continuous GPS operation in the background can significantly reduce battery life during field use.
